Frequently asked questions

Plain answers about Gutsphere, then deeper FAQs by condition and symptom when you need them.

Product & getting started

What Gutsphere is, how to begin, and what to expect day to day.

Is this medical advice?

No. Gutsphere isn’t a doctor and doesn’t replace medical care. It’s a daily system that helps you track what’s happening, learn what affects you, and show up to appointments with clearer context and evidence.

Do I need to track every day for this to work?

No. Gutsphere is built for low-energy, real-life use. Light tracking still helps, and “nothing happened” days can still be meaningful. The goal is consistency that’s sustainable: no streaks, no guilt, no penalties.

How is my data handled?

Your health story is private by default. You decide what to log, and you decide what to export or share. Your data isn’t treated like content for a feed, and sharing with a clinician or caregiver is always intentional, never automatic.

Can I use this alongside my doctor or treatment plan?

Yes, that’s the point. Gutsphere is built to complement care by helping you keep a clearer symptom history, notice patterns earlier, and bring a cleaner story into appointments, tests, and procedures.

What conditions is this for?

Gutsphere is built for the full GI journey, whether you’re dealing with constipation, bloating, reflux, IBS, IBD, or an unclear mix of symptoms. You don’t need a diagnosis to start, and nothing you track is lost if you get one later.

Will reminders be pushy or guilt-inducing?

No. Reminders are meant to feel like calm check-ins, not discipline. If you miss a day, nothing breaks. You can slow down and pick back up anytime.

Do I need a credit card to start? Can I cancel anytime?

No card needed. The Free plan is free to start on web, iOS or Android. Paid plans are cancel-anytime; the founding annual rate of $69/year stays locked in for as long as you keep it.

Care & clinical use

How Gutsphere fits alongside doctors, dietitians, and treatment plans.

Can my doctor use what I track?

You decide what to share. Gutsphere helps you prepare timelines and summaries for visits: sharing is intentional, never automatic.

What if I do not have a diagnosis yet?

You can start without one. Gutsphere is built for the full journey: finding answers, treatment, living with it, and staying ahead.

Does Gutsphere replace my clinician?

No. It is a self-help companion for tracking, day-to-day support, and visit prep. Diagnosis and treatment stay with qualified professionals.

What about urgent or emergency symptoms?

Seek urgent or emergency care when symptoms are severe or concerning. Gutsphere is not an emergency service.

Privacy & data

How your health story is handled.

Who can see my data?

Your health story is private by default. You choose what to log and what to export or share with a clinician or caregiver.

Is my data sold or used as feed content?

Your data is not treated like content for a social feed. Sharing is always intentional on your part.

Can I export or leave later?

You should be able to take your story with you. Paid plans are cancel-anytime; start free without a card.

Company & mission

Why Gutsphere exists and how we think about GI care.

Why focus on GI?

Gastrointestinal health is foundational, often stigmatized, and hard to navigate. Gutsphere exists to make the journey clearer: from first confusing symptoms to long-term confidence.

What is a copilot in this context?

A supportive guide for your GI journey: personalized reminders, insights, and visit prep that complement clinical care, not a replacement for it.

Who built Gutsphere?

Gutsphere was founded by Bimal Maharjan, who has lived with GI challenges since infancy. Read the founder story.

Who is the clinical advisor?

Danielle Lavallee, MS, RDN, LDN, CLC is Gutsphere’s clinical advisor — a GI-focused registered dietitian nutritionist. Learn more about Danielle Lavallee, MS, RDN, LDN, CLC. Gutsphere still does not diagnose or replace your clinician.
